2016 AIA Merit Award Winner
We took advantage of unused space at the back of an extra-long residential lot and progressive zoning that supports in-fill to design this highly-configurable studio loft. Inspired by the minimalist Japanese lunch boxes that only reveal their nature when opened, the space is connected visually and physically to the outdoor deck and yard via a large glass pivot door, and can be easily re-arranged for working, reading, sleeping, and entertaining | Ventura, CA
