This alternate-tread staircase recently featured by Houzz (“Five things you should know about space-saving staircases“) leads to the sitting/sleeping/reading loft above AW’s Bento Box studio workspace. Designed and placed to take up minimal square footage, it provides access to lesser-used space and stands in well for a more traditional, larger-footprint staircase.
