We replaced a Chinese screen and cabinet that divided the open-plan living area with a prowed fireplace and rolled steel extension, updated the wood panelling, and added rolled steel shelves to connect the elements visually.

The clock and accent pieces are family attic, online and specialty store finds collected and curated by the owners.

The fireplace both reveals and sets off ocean views, especially at sunset when the color of the steel surround echoes the darkening horizon.
